These varieties produce flowers of extraordinary beauty. The flower form varies between pitcher, urn and tulip shaped. They flower from mid-summer to fall and are hard pruned. As a group the texensis hybrids are quite heat tolerant but some are prone to mildew. Take early precaution by spraying with a fungicide monthly from early summer.
